Monstress, da Image Comics, é escrita por Marjorie Liu e desenhada por Sana Takeda e conta a história de uma trama envolvendo magos, demônios e outros seres mágicos, tudo dentro de uma trama adulta e bastante violenta. A HQ saiu no Brasil pela Pixel no início deste ano. Concorre ao Eisner nas categorias de “melhor série”, “melhor publicação juvenil”, “melhor desenhista”, “melhor roteirista” e “melhor capista”.
Já Emil Ferris foi lembrada nas categorias de “melhor álbum gráfico”, “melhor colorista”, “melhor letreirista”, “melhor escritor/desenhista” e “melhor design de publicação” por My Favorite Thing Is Monsters. A HQ saiu nos EUA pela Fantagraphics e será lançada no Brasil pela Companhia das Letras (ainda sem data).
Marcelo D’Salete está indicado como “melhor edição americana de material estrangeiro” por Run for It: Stories of Slaves Who Fought for the Freedom, edição da Fantagraphics para a HQ Cumbe, que saiu pela Veneta.
